Comentando de días, de preferencia intenta evitar visitar Balandra en resumen de semana, ya que es cuando mucho más gente vas a encontrar. Entre semana es perfecto para ir, en tanto que hay poca gente y la experiencia es considerablemente más interesante (en lo personal fui en martes y fue ideal). Balandra es una bahía ribereña, cercada de una increíble región de montañas, además muy cerca se encuentra una esencial zona de manglares. Por este motivo, la zona de más de 2.500 hectáreas que circunda la playa fue decretada por las autoridades ambientales como Área Natural Cuidada.
